Your support has a real impact on the lives of our families!

The end of the year is approaching fast, and we want to take this opportunity to thank you once again for supporting the work of The Family Place of Washington DC. Since the start of 2022, we have been able to support over 1,000 low-income families from the DC area, a record number for our charity. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to you and your commitment to our mission.

Your donation was especially important this year as we saw an increased need in the city for services and basic supplies for families. When the DC government declared a public emergency after more than 10,000 immigrants were bussed from Texas and Arizona, The Family Place offered much needed support for hundreds of those newly arrived families. We gave those in need food, supplies, and guidance and could not have responded in such a way without your continued and generous donations.

Furthermore, The Family Place and The Family Place Public Charter School continued to provide educational services with a Two-Generational approach. This "Two Agency – Two Generational” approach integrates services for children and their parents. It is key to our mission of eliminating barriers of poverty and empowering low-income immigrant and other families to live up to their full potential.

Our programs provide these families with critical educational and social support services. In 2022, we have provided food bags, clothes, baby items, diapers, pantry items, and other essentials. At the same time, we have focused on strengthening our Early Childhood Education services for children of our adult learners, expanding our resources to help 105 infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers develop their gross motor skills, general cognitive skills, emergent literacy and numeracy skills.

Although we have been able to help hundreds of families navigate the challenges they face, the need for education/social services, food and supplies is far from met and continues to grow. In 2023 (our 43rd year!), we hope to continue supporting our clients, expand our early learning programs, and increase emergency brief services.

We are most thankful to you for your past support and hope that you will consider giving a generous donation to The Family Place before the end of this year. Your gift will have a direct, positive impact in our community, enabling us to continue to empower hundreds of families seeking to overcome adversity and thrive through the power of education.
